Question 1

How does it actually work?

Accepted Answer

Browse the groups above, tap WhatsApp on the one you want, and send the pre-filled message. A real CDMX-based moderator reads it and adds you - same day most of the time, 48 hours tops. No downloads, no account, no cost.

Question 2

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, completely. There's no cost to join any CDMX People Club group, ever. We never sell your number, never fill the chat with spam, and never run ads inside the groups.

Question 3

Can I join more than one group?

Accepted Answer

Yes - join as many as fit. Plenty of members are in the Digital Nomads chat and the Lucha Libre Nights group and still show up for Street Food Crawls. There's no cap, and most people settle into somewhere between two and four groups.

Question 4

What's the group size? Won't it be spammy?

Accepted Answer

We cap every group at 250 people and moderate actively. Promo links, crypto pitches, and off-topic spam get deleted and the sender removed - these chats exist for members, not marketers.

Question 5

I'm only in CDMX for 5 days. Worth joining?

Accepted Answer

Five days is exactly the window Tourists - 10 Days is built for. Expect a welcome dinner your first or second night, a shared taxi from the airport if timing lines up, and enough local tips to skip the tourist-trap taco stands entirely.

Question 6

I don't have WhatsApp. Another option?

Accepted Answer

In Mexico City, WhatsApp is how you'll book an Uber, message a landlord, or reach a doctor's office - it's worth installing regardless of this website. If it's genuinely not an option for you, reach out through our contact page and we'll sort out another way to loop you in.

Question 7

Are these groups safe? Vetted?

Accepted Answer

Every request goes through a short intro first - a photo, your first name, where you're from, and which group you're after. Anyone reported for harassment or scamming is removed on the spot. This is a community of residents and travelers, not a listings page.

Question 8

Who runs this?

Accepted Answer

Behind CDMX People Club is a small crew of long-term Mexico City residents and frequent visitors who got tired of watching newcomers struggle alone. What began as a single WhatsApp thread has grown into ten groups we moderate ourselves. No office, no company — just people who care about this city.
